NEWSLETTER #2

In case you missed it, our Advent Calendars went live over the weekend.

Available for pre-order now, we've searched high and low to curate two styles of beery advent calendar - perfect for any beer lover!

Firstly, we've a Pale & IPA box. Expect beers from across the spectrum of the styles, from session pales through to Double IPA's, from local players to some exciting breweries from further afield.

Next we have our Dealer's Choice box, the perfect daily dose of festive cheer for the beer adventurer. From pales to stouts, Belgian & German classics, sours and everything in-between.

And of course, all our advent Calendars will include some festive beers too! Plus, each box includes a glass from our friends at Crispy Boi and a £10 voucher to use with us in January! (Plus, if you've signed up to our loyalty scheme you'll earn 120 points too!)

Boxes will be available for collection or delivery w/c 20 November and are strictly limited. We've 24 of each style available and we don't expect these to hang around long.

FRESH IN

fresh-in-beer

It's been a busy week here, lots of new arrivals in the fridges (and more to come in the next week - we've our first English wines arriving from Balfour and Woolton).

First up, we've lots of delicious Whiplash in the fridges. Based in Dublin, Whiplash produce some of the best beer in Europe if you ask me. Their hop forward beers are fantasic - my picks are their core pale ale - 'Body Riddle' - a lovely, well rounded pale ale with layers of tropical fruit notes and 'Bone Machine' - their IPA, well balanced and dry and fruity enough to send you back for more.

Gipsy Hill also landed with us - aside from some great artwork on the gangs, the beer inside is tasting great as always. 'Bogan' is an Aussie hopped pale, loads of tropical fruits. 'Twitcher' - their latest Double IPA - features Cryo Idaho 7 and is full of ripe, juicy, pineapple notes. We've also got their tropical stout 'Glimmer', brewed with Sabro, to give a slight coconut note, and Tonka beans which add a touch of vanilla. Finally, they've done a bonkers collaboration with Mash Gang - who are really leading the way in the low/no category at the moment - and brewed a Screwball Sour at 1.5%. Bonkers, but delicious!

We've added a couple of dark beers from one of our favourites too - Pohjala. This Estonian brewery have always put out some of the best dark beers in the world. We've just taken delivery of their smooth and chocolatey 'Must Kuld' porter and 'Triple Barrel' - a blended barley wine from 3 vintages.

Finally, in the bigger sharing format (or don't share and just enjoy it yourself) we've got Burning Sky's Cherry Saison in and the latest release of Five Points' legendary 'Old Greg's Barley Wine' - definitely one for the season and both will be perfect with a cheeseboard over the festive season (if you can wait that long. Or buy 2, one for now and one for later!).

EVENTS

Coming up we’ve our first in-store tasting with Somerset’s ‘The Newt’ on the 30th October - producers of some of the country’s finest Cyder (not just our words, they’re renowned and they really are deserving of the title).
